Overview

NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center’s (NorthPoint) mission to create a healthier community is based on three pillars that provide the foundation for serving the North Minneapolis community: WholePerson Integrated Care, Building Community Well-Being, and Health Equity.

NorthPoint offers a continuum of social and health services that integrates medical, dental, and behavioral health with human services to improve quality of life. We strive to serve our community by addressing the physical, behavioral, social, and spiritual aspects of health in culturally responsive and trauma-informed ways.

Building Community Well-Being

A community’s sense of well-being includes social, economic, environmental, cultural, and political conditions identified by the members of a community as essential for them to “flourish and fulfill their potential.” To build and nurture community well-being, we must understand that population we serve to improve their health, safety, and access to the services they need.

Health Equity

NorthPoint is committed to health equity which requires valuing everyone. We strive to reduce the social, economic, and health inequities experienced by the community and the people we serve. We work with community partners to support people in reaching their full health potential.

Purpose and Characteristics:

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded, empathetic leader with experience managing a mid-sized non-profit organization or large human services department, leading an executive management team, and developing a culture excellence through high quality service delivery among a group of diverse, talented individuals. The COO must be a leader who can recognize staff strengths, invest in their development, and identify opportunities for growth that result in the delivery of measurable, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.

General Job Statement:

The COO is accountable for the strategic organizational planning and implementation of a robust human services organization with guidance from the CEO and Community Board. The COO is responsible for the management of programs and operational efficacy that meets community needs, results in staff engagement and retention, financial transparency and stability as well as effective business operations. The COO is a member of the NorthPoint’s Executive Team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
