Location: MontgomeryAL (Onsite from day 1)

Project Description:

  • Installs Network and telephone cabling asneeded. Terminate and test cabling for optimal operation.
  • Installs telephone sets and tests for properoperation.
  • Test network equipment such asswitches LAN Extenders and telephones.
  • Troubleshoot voice and data issues to determine if repairor replacement is needed.
  • Employee will haveto travel to various State Prison Facilities throughout Alabama.
  • Employee will be exposed and in contact withmale and female inmates at the facilities while performing varioustasks and responsibilities.

Skills Required:

  • Install Cabling throughout buildings(Sometimes works in ceilings crawlspaces and on ladders) Ability tolift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to workoverhead.
  • Knowledge of Network and Telephonecable termination methodologies.
  • Knowledge ofstandard network and telephony cable coloring schemes.

SkillsPreferred:

  • Quick thinking.
  • Selfmotivated.
  • Networkand telephone cable and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of standard network and telephony cablecoloring schemes.

ExperienceRequired:

  • 12 monthsexperience in the telephone or network field.
  • Proven experience working as a Network andTelecommunications Technician.
  • Soundknowledge of Network and Telecommunications systems.

ExperiencePreferred:

  • 12 months ofwork in a telecommunications environment involving installation andtroubleshooting telephone cabling and end userequipment.

Education Required:

  • HIgh School / GED

EducationPreferred:

One year of postsecondaryeducation program in Telecommunications TelecommunicationsTechnology. Preferred but not required.
