Job Summary:

ATS-AL Inc. is seeking a skilled Cable Installation Expert to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining our structured cabling systems. This is a unique opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull, install, terminate, and test CAT 6 and fiber optic cabling
  • Prepare and install cable pathways and supports
  • Run new cabling in new or existing spaces: CAT5e, CAT6, and 10gig 2
  • Test and troubleshoot network issues (connectivity, other low-voltage cable-associated issues)
  • Connect wires and cables to terminals, and attach/detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, and poles
  • Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross-connects, 66 blocks, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware)
  • Perform MDF and IDF build-outs

Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience installing structured cable and performing terminations and punch-down work
  • Technicians should have prior experience installing telecommunication frames/support structures (cabinets, trays, racks, wall mounts, ladder racks, j-hooks, etc)
  • Operate test equipment to include: tones, twisted pair, checkers, butt set, and cable scanners
  • Experience working structured cabling projects with multiple drops
  • Excellent people skills, communication skills, and self-management skills
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical activities, including lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds
  • Technicians should have all basic cabling tools
