Job Description And Responsibilities

The Director, Product Management will deliver products and solutions, leveraging EMV, 3DS, Token, Biometric, PCI secure software-based technologies, that deliver delightful experiences for the entire ecosystem i.e., sellers, buyers, issuers, acquirers and technology platforms with focus on fit for purpose across developed and emerging markets.

The Director will establish the infrastructure of card acceptance services, policy and framework and deliver capability that is future forward yet fast to access. This position will work closely with various teams across Visa to successfully launch, commercialize and scale our business service in new ways. This position will translate regional needs and technology assets into business and technical requirements for emerging solutions that deliver new capabilities. The role requires a broad range of pragmatic product building skills – familiarity with digital payment technologies and the ability to identify efficiencies and opportunities. The primary responsibility will be authoring requirements and deployment of Solution Service coupled with GTM collaterals and process. Responsible for sprint management, status and delivery. Oversee scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters. Represent the team in various update meetings and be part of client meetings to guide them in the process. Responsible for early identification of issues, determining potential resolutions, communicating status, tracking, and resolving them in a timely manner.

This role is global and will need to balance regional and global opportunities to achieve overall solution and platform objectives. Accomplishing this will require a nuanced ability to influence and collaborate across a complex and highly matrixed organization and provide leadership and clear vision to direct and indirect teams.

Essential Functions:

Pragmatic Product Builder that can synthesize requirements into a common set of platform and services capabilities, writing very clear, thorough and detailed user stories and requirements for complex features and product sets. Liaise with other business units, product managers, engineering and other applicable groups to ensure flawless execution and output enablement guides and collaterals. Strong desire to lead and effectively manage business problems through hands on trouble shooting and analysis, essential for key global projects/programs related to the new solution. Lead technical discussions with a high level of independence and knowledge including EMV, Fido, PCI, tokenization, application requirements, customer experience and software and payments security Provide status, action plan and recommendations to senior leadership on an ongoing basis An independent thinker with a great eye for detail that has an innovative approach and a deep appreciation of market needs A team player that can bridge the gap between business and technology while effectively collaborating with various teams across Visa globally Enable development of the core platform along with feature sets spanning the end-to-end payments lifecycle Closely work with Global and Regional teams to set priorities and track product development progress Manage periodic updates to product documentation and collaborate with global stakeholders on communication impacts including development of FAQs, internal memos, and Visa Business News (VBNs) articles. Develop/approve business release articles and API release notes prior to client communication. Deepen cross-functional coordination and provide direct input to enhance policy development, working closely with Ecosystem, Policy, Legal, Risk, and other business colleagues at the market, regional, and global levels. The candidate must have a proven history of managing payment application products through phases of a product’s lifecycle. In addition to real-world experience and instinct, they should have the ability to leverage well-structured partnerships with technology, finance, product marketing and account managers to support execution targets. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build great relationships and promote excitement and vision are critical qualities for success. This position may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations around the globe.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD Experience with leading Initiatives Subject matter expertise in debit, credit, open banking and digital products including good knowledge of RTP, ACH processing, merchant terminals, card schemes and Instant Payments.

Preferred Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD Minimum 10 years of industry experience in product management, product development, and payments processing with expertise in product and feature launches. Possess a unique combination of product expertise, problem-solving ability, comfortable with rapid changes, payments technology curiosity, and attention to detail. Ability to handle projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of product business problems. Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex workstreams and processes with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence successfully within a highly matrixed organization. Fluency in PowerPoint, Excel and JIRA Experience Team oriented, collaborative, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities. Detail oriented and highly execution focused by working in conjunction with various counterparts across multiple functional groups. Organized, with a natural inclination for both strategic and tactical planning and turn strategy into tangible deliverables. Good business insight and understanding of organizational issues and challenges. Demonstrated thought leadership and aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results. Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations and solutions.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 237,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
