Description:
As a Designer you will design activities supporting product development and manufacturing support. Major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes CAD equipment to develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals. Investigates and makes decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.
Responsibilities: Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
Must Haves: Bachelor’s and a minimum of 4 years or prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience Experience in the use of 3D CAD (preferably PTC Creo). Preferred experience in design of electronic equipment. Secondary experience in design of industrial equipment or automotive components Eligible to obtain a US Government Secret Security Clearance if required Strong communication skills and enjoys working with other people, developing relationships and sharing knowledge
