JOB SUMMARYPerforms ultrasound procedures in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost effective imaging.
• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
• Provides appropriate radiation protection to patient, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards.
• May be designated as an interim shift lead in the absence of the Radiology Technologist Team Lead.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Compliance (Intermediate): Demonstrates knowledge of the appropriate rules and regulations and apply them in difficult, stressful and complex situations. Able to interpret and explain rules and regulations that are ambiguous or unclear. Directs others in interpreting rules and regulations on the job and trains others in them.

• Radiology (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of radiology services in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
• Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of anatomy and physiology knowledge in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others.
