Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world.  The Emergency Department at Hartford Hospital is responsible for treating a wide variety of patients, from basic ailments to the most complex traumas, at our Level-I Trauma Center. This unit has some the highest acuity in the region, requiring our nurses to think and act quickly to meet the varying needs of our patients. Comprised of 109 beds, the unit is subdivided into different pods, including the Purple Pod for Behavioral Health patients and Red Pod for the most severe cases. We are also a primary stroke and cardiac center. Successful healthcare providers on this unit are highly skilled, agile and resilient; with the ability to work together to make sure we have a safe environment and provide the highest level of satisfaction to our staff and patients

 

Job Summary

Responsible to proactively approach and cordially greet patients, family members, and other visitors in an effort to provide an exemplary first impression which fosters a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Performs a variety of duties in an exemplary customer service manner which ensures visitors’ engagement/satisfaction and achieves the goal to provide exceptional customer service to every patient and visitor that walks in the Emergency Department.

Provides a pleasant and welcoming greeting to all who enters the Emergency Department facility. Responsible to bring kindness, caring, empathy, compassion understanding, and patience

Ascertain/clarify needs of patients/visitor needs and provide the appropriate information in accordance with established procedures and policies in a courteous and warm manner.  Help establish trust with both patients, and visitors.  At all-time communicate in a way that assures patient confidentiality

Responsible to answering incoming calls promptly and professionally, evaluates priority and directs calls appropriately according to urgency and subject matter.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED equivalent

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish

Comfortable with public speaking

Two (2) years of customer service experience in a customer service industry
