What Your Job Will Be Like:

You will be working closely a team of staff, postdoc, graduate students and technologists who are experts in ion nano-implantation, quantum information sciences, single photon emitters, and nitrogen-vacancy magnetometry. You will engage in original research in many areas of solid-state defect center discovery and utilization, including new capability demonstration. A Ph.D. in physics, materials science, chemistry or a related field is required.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

PhD, conferred within 5 years prior to employment, in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Sciences, Quantum Information, or related discipline Proven communication skills as evidenced by a record of publication of results in peer-reviewed journals and external presentations at scientific conferences Experience will include experimental research and hands on laboratory experience Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

Well-developed skills in one or more of the following areas are desired:

Experimental background in a field related to quantum information. Experience with optical techniques for pump-probe photoluminescence experiments Experience with microwave or radio frequency magnetic resonance techniques. Experience with nitrogen-vacancy atomic force microscopy. Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously. High motivation to write manuscripts and present at conferences. Programming/software experience with Python, Mathematica, Matlab, and/or LabView.
