This role is part of the Safety, Quality, & Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin design, manufacture, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health and safety, product integrity and continuous improvement processes serve the Blue Origin Mission and Vision.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will aid in quality reviews, such as pre-ship, pedigree, and hardware acceptance reviews. Responsibilities will also include supporting troubleshooting of quality issues and corrective action boards, assist in the selection and execution of RCCA, FMEA, SPC, and DMAIC. Support the shift lead quality engineer in the review, identify, and document of nonconformances against hardware, material and processes. Monitor the development of continuous improvement activities, compliance surveillance assessments, manufacturing and assembly activities trends. Monitor actionable metrics to drive sustainable improvement across test stands and launch operations. Support field sites with other quality engineers as required. Participate in life cycle reviews and test readiness reviews, flight readiness reviews, mission readiness reviews, and post flight data reviews. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the test operations and launch of New Shepard. In this role you will report directly to Manager of Quality.

Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the West Texas Site in Van Horn, TX offers eligible employee’s additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employee’s ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn, TX, or travel to Van Horn from another Blue location a minimum of 50% of the time.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Review product Non-Conformances to ensure data accuracy and drive corrective action Perform witness buy-offs and close out inspections of work orders Perform process surveillances on test and flight operations Review scrap material and correctly process to ensure proper segregation documentation Investigate process non-compliances and document findings Analyze data and drive improvement Assist and lead Continuous Improvement projects and Root Cause Analysis events

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum experience of 0 to 3 years. Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or expected to graduate with Engineering degree within 6 months. Quality assurance experience on an engine test stands, manufacturing and launch operations environment Entry level experience on maintenance, modifications, dimensional measurements, and inspections Knowledgeable on technical documentation, system configuration and assemblies  Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs Ability to support test and launch operations for first and/or second shift throughout the week Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum  Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus Internal Audit Training / Certification Formal RCA training
