Overview

Johnson Memorial Health, inFranklin, Indiana, is looking for an outstanding provider for our brand-newbehavioral unit opening up this year. The Medical Director reviews andimplements patient treatment plans with the treatment team; reviews patient medicalrecords, participates in hospital meetings and on committees; representing theProgram with internal and external key stakeholders such as providers,regulatory bodies, etc.; directing the inclusion of behavioral health expertiseat all levels of the Program and throughout the client hospital; andaccountability for establishing and meeting utilization goals. Ensures servicesare provided in accordance with standards and regulations set forth by JointCommission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO), Medicare,Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In addition,

Will provide direction toclinical staff

Position Type/ExpectedHours of Work-

This is a full-timeposition, and hours of work and days are subject to the needs of the Programwhich operates on a 24 hour; seven days a week basis. Please refer toProgram or Hospital attendance policy for additional direction on shifts,holidays and attendance.

Job Specifications:

Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience

  1. DoctoralDegree with a current, active, valid unrestricted state license
  2. Boardcertified Psychiatrist highly preferred
  3. Mastersdegree from an accredited college or university (two years of post-graduateeducation after completing a four-year degree).
  4. Maintaina current federal Drug Enforcement Agency license
  5. Notbe a Sanctioned Provider
  6. Minimumfive (5) years of clinical experience in behavioral healthcare
  7. Minimumfive (5) years in hospital administration
  8. Knowledgeof state and federal health insurance regulations
  9. Previousexperience in behavioral health working with geriatric, adult and/or adolescentpopulations
  10. Willingand able to obtain appropriate credentials and privileges required to provideservices to the client Hospital

Hospital Description

Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) is county-ownedand has served the citizens of Johnson County immediately south of Indianapolissince 1947. With 125 staffed beds the hospital has a number of specialtyprograms. Among them are a comprehensive cancer services, breast center,peripheral vascular lab, Interventional radiology, cardiovascular testingcenter, sleep center, wound care center, diabetes care program, acuterehabilitation center, spine surgery, orthopedic and sports medicine services,ENT services, critical and progressive care units, and a renal dialysis serviceon the JMH campus.

A year ago, Johnson Memorial Health became amember of the Mayo Clinic Care Network a select group of carefully vetted,independent healthcare organizations with special access to Mayo Clinicknowledge, resources, and expertise. Patients continue to benefit from MayoClinic and care network members working together to provide patients with thecare they need, close to home, at no additional cost and with added peace ofmind.

The hospital completed a $12.5 millionexpansion and modernization of the surgery unit in 2012. In 2024, JMHwill open a 29-bed inpatient behavior health hospital on the campus.

Johnson Countys projected population is148,000. Over the last decade it has consistently been the 3rd or 4th fastestgrowing county in the state of Indiana. Franklin is located about 25 milessouth of downtown Indianapolis, making trips into Indianapolis for dining,sporting or cultural events an easy drive of less than 30 minutes. Access toIndianapolis International Airport is a 30-to-45-minute commute, depending onyour location in Johnson County. The county boasts a wide variety of housingoptions and with its location provides easy access to the University ofIndianapolis and Indiana, Purdue, Butler, Ball State and Indiana Stateuniversities. All are located less than 90 miles from Johnson County. Thehighly regarded Franklin College, a four-year liberal arts college, is a fewminutes away from the hospital in Franklin.
