Position: Claims Adjuster - Auto
Location: Overland Park, KS
Starting Compensation: $29/hr
Arrangement: Hybrid after training period
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm local time
Overview:
Avenica is currently evaluating talent for an Auto Claims Adjuster in the insurance industry. Great opportunities for long-term growth This person will handle and maintain auto claims and file reviews, with thorough training on company systems and practices provided by the team and supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews claim and policy information to provide background for investigation and may determine the extent of the policy’s obligation to the insured
- Contacts, interviews and obtains statements (recorded or in-person) from insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc. to secure necessary claim information.
- Evaluates facts supplied by investigation to determine extent of liability of the insured, if any, and extend of the company’s obligation to the insured under the policy contract.
- Prepares reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluation of involved parties etc.
- Reviews progress and status of claims; discusses problems and suggested remedial actions with supervisor
- Obtains releases, proofs of loss or compensation agreements and issues company drafts in payments for claims.
- Informs claimants, insureds/customers or attorney of denial of claim when applicable.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years claims handling experience in Auto
- Experience within a TPA environment preferred. Required to obtain specific state licenses, costs supported by the company
- Knowledge of auto liability cost containment programs and account management skills
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of an organization both internal and external.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated ability to provide consistent superior service to customers.
