Occupational Therapy Assistant- Lymphedema Management

Location: Granbury TX

Job Type: PRN, Part-Time to Full Time

Reports to: Clinical Director and OTR

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team, specializing in lymphedema management. The ideal candidate will possess  knowledge and experience in treating and managing lymphedema, providing exceptional care to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lymphedema Management:

   - Follow patient plan of care for lymphedema management using appropriate clinical tools and measurements.

   - Execute comprehensive lymphedema treatment plans, incorporating manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, and therapeutic exercises.

   - Provide patient education on lymphedema self-management, including skin care, exercise, and the use of compression garments.

   - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic care for lymphedema patients.

2. Patient Care:

   - Deliver compassionate and patient-centered care, building strong therapeutic relationships.

   - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.

   - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

3. Professional Development:

   - Stay current with advancements in lymphedema management through continuing education and professional development.

   - Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from an accredited institution.

- Valid state licensure as a Occupational Therapy Assistant license.

- Passion for lymphedema management and compression.

- Certification in Wound Care (e.g., WCC, CWS) and/or Lymphedema Management (e.g., CLT, LANA) preferred but not required.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an OT.

- Strong clinical skills and the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Ability to travel between facilities and patients homes.
