WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer for our Brand New Boise, ID office. WSP USA Operates with a Hybrid-Workplace Model. Be involved in projects with our Structural Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and/or construction of infrastructure projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include assisting with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction various structural elements of bridges and culverts. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding material, installations, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality.

Your Impact

Design

Perform engineering techniques on a variety of assignments for structural elements under minimal supervisionReview submittals and shop drawingsEvaluate design calculations for projectsExamine existing structures and load ratingsPerform project specific analysesPrepare necessary plans, specifications, estimates, and technical memorandums

Analytics

Utilize technical knowledge to propose creative solutions and solve complex technical problemsCompile and review reportsDevelop an understanding of project financesPrepare proposalsAssist in developing schedules and objectives for the project and/or work of field staffUse necessary computer software tools and applications to solve difficult engineering problemsPerform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule

Collaboration

Coordinate closely with the team on projects, as well as other disciplines as needed, to support client needsCoordinate and manage tasks within projectsParticipate in or lead structural or project related team meetingsMentor and guide entry-level engineers and collaboratively share informationSeek to develop client relationshipsExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresOther duties as required by business needs

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.5-7 years of experience.E.I.T. Certification.Experience in structural design.Experience with effectively leading a team and/or tasks for technical assignments.Member of and actively participates in local professional practice organization(s) including attending meetings/lectures.Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.Ability to utilize current technical knowledge and applications.Attention to detail and highly organized.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications 

Master's Degree or Ph.D.P.E. or Essential License, as applicable.Participation on conference panels, poster sessions, papers or presentations.Experience with industry (i.e., AASHTO standards and procedures).Experience with local DOT projects.
