Deploying to Qatar

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will report directly to the Program Manager. The CMO collaborates with and receives clinical oversight from the Corporate CMO. The CMO is responsible for providing medical supervision, direction and leadership for all aspects of healthcare delivery. In addition, the CMO is responsible for direct oversight of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Laboratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Public Health (PH) and Behavioral Health (BH) departments. BH providers will report directly to the CMO.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise all physicians (including surgeons), mid-level providers, and dentists.Provides strategic direction for medical staff.Serves as clinical leader for the organization providing support and education for other clinical leaders.Establishes the strategic direction for physician services programs to meet short-term advisory goals and deliver on long-term goals.Communicates the clinical vision so the department and employees understand how they are connected with the vision and values of the organization.Provides direct leadership, oversight, and accountability for the operational effectiveness of the physician services program.Own and report on metrics to measure the impact of physician services.Approve medical practice procedures and policies, guidelines, and SOPs.Provide advice on the availability of medical equipment.Assists in planning for the development of new medical services.Provides counsel in personnel matters relating to the clinical staff.Review results of patient satisfaction surveys.Ensures periodic review of practice management functions.Review patient complaints.Provide medical consultation as needed.Provide direct patient care under the scope as outlined in the Family/Emergency/Internal Medicine physician job description for MSSI.Participate in the development and administration of policies.Participate in strategic planning.Participate in the development and review of clinical protocols.Participate in the development and implementation of training and educational programs for healthcare personnel in theater.Participate in meetings as required.Chair the Pharmacy; Therapeutics and the Quality Management committees.Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a specific level of knowledge about new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.Comply with all applicable Acuity standards and guidelines.Participate and advise in Mass Casualty Exercises/Events.All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow-up care requiredAll services shall be provided following established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.Other duties as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduated from an approved medical school in the United States or Canada with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation or, a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.Board Eligibility* in a primary care specialty, which for this contract, include Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Practice, and Emergency MedicineThis accreditation may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).Must have a minimum of 15 (fifteen) years of clinical experience as a Physician in either Emergency Medicine, International Medicine, or Family Practice plus an additional 5 (five) years experience in a HealthCare Leadership position. Demonstrated experience in executive-level interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment. Hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S. (State) Medical License.Current DEA registration number.Have and maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License.Must have a valid US Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen.Must be current in all required certifications.Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAAShall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software.Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.Safely performs duties and follows the corporate safety policy.Participates in and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.Ensures safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.Maintains a clean and orderly work area.Other duties as assigned.
