General Purpose of the Job:
The Design Engineer will execute custom designs for customer-specific applications. The engineer will be challenged with a balance of projects for active orders and work towards client's projects.
The engineer will employ design strategies to fulfill successful execution of projects based on customer requirements. The engineer will work with the Project Managers, Account Managers, and Manufacturing Engineering to scope potential projects, innovate design ideas, create prototypes, review possible improvements, perform validation testing, and complete cost analyses to determine pricing which will be profitable and competitive.
Other collaborative duties will be related to providing sizing and specifications for custom designs and overall production support.
The Design Engineer works to ensure all products provide a high-quality level that meets customer expectations.
A Design Engineer will be part of approval process to ensures that the different products leaving the facility are fully operational, effective, and free from defects. Verifying the quality and performance of the products, in addition to troubleshooting, and the rectification of any existing errors or defects, are the primary duties.
Responsibilities: Complete D design and D drawings based on specifications for each application. Work on "Ongoing projects to bring new designs and production capabilities into the business. Generate unique design solutions for customer-specific applications. Generate full production documentation and bills of materials for production. Communicate with the production department and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve part fabrication, assembly, and testing issues. Handle post-production issues with projects. Regularly meet with the engineering team to discuss strategies to improve design practices and efficiencies to improve quality and increase throughput. Process ECRs to capture all changes or errors caught during production . Manage and develops procedures for products and BOMs to improve or perform jobs. Analyze current engineering methods used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve. Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates in relation to customer experience. Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration. Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor the progress and implementation of engineering projects and initiatives. Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and creating them for other members of the team. Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seek to manage challenges. Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions, including the time and scope involved. Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for their proper execution. Other duties, as assigned. General Competencies: Possess a positive attitude and optimistic outlook. Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer + years required Experience in Exhibit Design a plus Motivated and organized critical thinker with solid interpersonal and business communication skills. Consensus oriented collaborative team builder. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team to set goals, execute project plans, monitor progress, and report observations scientifically. Routinely communicate findings and information to other team members; transparency and knowledge sharing are expected and practiced. Strong ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with fluctuating priorities and collaborate effectively with others. Basic computer skills required, such as knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook A high degree of flexibility and adaptability. Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet customer deliverables on time. Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills. Qualifications Assosiate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field. a plus with + years of Design Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally dealing with sheet metal, tubing, wire and wood. OR over years solid experience in the above Experience developing product design for manufacturing. Strong SolidWorks experience. Project development skills are essential. Minimum of years of wide-ranging experience in the development, implementation, and technical support with sustaining or improving product manufacturing process with responsibility for results, including costs and methods. Demonstrated ability to work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Demonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet the goals of assignments received in the form of objectives. Able to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Spanish language communication skills are a plus.
