Job Title: Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for transforming visualized concepts into manufacturing-ready drawings and providing essential knowledge for manufacturing materials, processes, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess information provided by clients, sales, and project managers to create engineered design solutions that consider visual and structural integrity, cost-effective manufacturability, and assembly.
  • Take approved visuals and produce prototype and manufacturing drawing projects in the form of complete drawing packs with bill of materials.
  • Design projects to suit manufacturing processes and appropriate materials, ensuring assembly, customer interaction, and safety guidelines are met.
  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines and work closely with the production department to ensure the right solutions are implemented.
  • Visit factories as needed to verify display construction, specifications, and quality.
  • Ensure project documentation adheres to company-defined processes, including detailed parts lists, QC guidelines, and technical specifications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience working in POP design industry.
  • Working knowledge and experience in designing for manufacturing displays in plastic sheet fabrication, vacuum forming, injection molding, extrusions, metal, wood fabrication, and hardware finishing.
  • Comfortable interacting with sales, account, project management, and production teams.
  • Highly motivated with good interpersonal skills and a positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
Software Knowledge:
  • SolidWorks, Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop), SolidWorks EPDM.
  • 3D rendering a plus (StudioMax, Cinema4D or equivalent).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
