Summary : The HSE Generalist is responsible for providing daily support of HSE programs and policies. HSE Information System maintenance, occupational health programs, training, onboarding, policy implementation. Manages training management and company’s drug and alcohol programs. 

General Responsibilities:

Implements health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines for the employee and department safety. Creates incident reports and performs inspections to ensure conformity in all areas of HSE. Performs incident investigations utilizing appropriate investigation techniques, such as root cause analysis. Interacts with personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes and regulations. Determines requisite for and organizes audits of company operated properties. Keeps informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards. Promotes HSE through toolbox topic generation and facilitation. Manages Behavioral Based Safety program data. Assists in development and implementation of systems and standards to facilitate the capturing and analysis of HSE statistics. Under direct supervision, performs routine assignments as a safety professional. Develops core competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems.  Coordinates and instructs HSE training programs. Serves as a DER for drug & alcohol programs.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree – Occupational Safety and Health preferred HSE certification preferred

Required Experience:

1+ year HSE experience Must be able to work independently and also as part of small multidisciplinary teams Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Must communicate effectively and be proactive in support of problems and solutions Must have working knowledge or MS Office

Physical Requirements:

Sit for extended periods of time working on computer Driving to and from various outside meetings Office and field safety inspections and audits (may require wearing of PPE)
