WATER OPERATOR I

The City of Watertown Water Utility is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Water Operator I. This is a skilled and technical maintenance orientated position whose duties involve controlling, monitoring, and operating the water operations including the treatment plants and is considered a hands-on job for all process equipment in each of the following areas: well pumping stations, preliminary filter treatment, post filter treatment, and other chemical addition systems (pumps, compressors, conveyance, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.)

Candidate must be an energetic self-starter with excellent work record and able to work with minimum supervision. This position is part of an on-call rotation and must be able to respond within (60) minutes. Ability to read construction drawings and electrical schematics is essential.

Qualifications: Wisconsin driver's license, high school diploma and 3 years' experience in trade, vocational or technical school degree/courses in related fields and/or experience along with knowledge and training in water supply and treatment plant system is desirable. State of Wisconsin Water Operators certifications in groundwater, distribution, and iron removal are desirable but not mandatory at the start of employment to be considered for this position.

Starting compensation is $25.80 to $27.27, DOQ. This is a full-time position with Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending, WRS pension, Deferred Compensation, Holidays, Paid Sick Time, Vacation Time available on date of hire, and Tuition Reimbursement.

This is a full-time hourly position with current normal work hours from 7 am to 3 pm Monday - Friday with a weekend rotation schedule. (Flexible shift options will be considered)
