Position Summary: The Cost Accountant will have the primary responsibility for monitoring and analyzing the company’s cost accounting processes. This role involves collaborating with different departments to collect and analyze cost information, preparing reports, and providing recommendations to improve cost efficiency and financial performance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial statements, manufacturing processes, product structure and costing, ability to identify variances and outline the key drivers causing the variances, ability to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external individuals, and advanced Excel skills. Primary Job Responsibilities Conduct detailed analyses of product costs, production costs, and overhead expenses. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide explanations for discrepancies. Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts related to production costs. Work with management to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements. Establish and maintain standard costs for products, including materials, labor, and overhead. Review and update cost estimates for new products or changes in production processes. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management. Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements. Assist in internal and external audit activities related to cost accounting. Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and provide decision support to management. Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding cost-related matters. Assist with month end close process as related to co-pack activity. Maintain and update cost accounting system.
