Year after year, our team continues to make significant breakthroughs in the industry. We’re just getting started.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer within our Lighting and Lifestyles brand team, you will be responsible for the management of multiple projects simultaneously in the development of new and updating existing products. Project focus will be based on Milwaukee Air Movement, Jobsite Cleanup and Motor Control Systems. Every project entails the inventive exploration of form and function with passion for the interactions between the user and the product or system. You will not only be responsible for working collaboratively with internal groups, but multiple external suppliers, designers, and vendors both domestic and international. Therefore organization, timeline management, communication, and attention to technical detail will ensure that you are successful in this role.

  • Create initial prototypes and concept models of electronics systems with an eye towards practicality and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Aware of new technologies relevant to our industry and implement them when feasible. Continue to self-educate with new technologies.
  • Draw concise, logical, written conclusions from experiments based on data analysis.
  • Present information to cross-functional audiences.
  • Develop and maintain familiarity and understanding of Milwaukee's development and manufacturing processes.
  • Work with and establish trusting relationships with engineers throughout Asia and the world.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with product development from initial concept to production.
  • Use laboratory equipment typically utilized in an electronics development environment.
  • Lead the electronic system design and be the chief technical expert of that system.
  • As project moves from concept to development, you will be expected to provide guidance and/or assistance throughout the duration of the project.
  • Design, build, and test prototype electronic systems.
  • Collaboratively work with a cross functional team to define features, functions, and requirements of concept designs until they are ready for final development.
  • Troubleshoot, perform Root Cause Analysis, and offer feasible solutions on projects under development.
  • Quickly identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems in order to resolve in a high urgency environment.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience in related design field.
  • Experience and desire to lead a small team of electrical engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on attitude.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, motors, and motor control systems.
  • Broad-based experience with analog circuitry and embedded systems.
  • Basic understanding of Firmware development and programing best practices.
  • Knowledge of USB power systems and battery charging systems is useful.
