RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the purchase of goods and/or services used by the manufacturing facility Approves and qualifies vendors and authorizes purchase orders. Evaluates vendor reliability and follows up on complex problems Supervises the activities of other purchasing/materials analysts and coordinators. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. Assists subordinates in performing duties. Enforces and maintains safe work place. May be given certain authority within job scope by Manager Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Federal-Mogul Integrity Policy. All employees will abide by the plant’s safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard. An employee should report, and if necessary stop, any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself. Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION:

4 Year Business Degree

EXPERIENCE:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum 2-3 years experience or training in purchasing preferably in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in supervision role preferred.
