Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes within a production environment to enhance efficiency and product quality. This role involves developing and implementing best practices, training staff, and optimizing manufacturing workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and refine manufacturing methods for assembly and production, continuously seeking improvements and training staff in new techniques.
  • Program and maintain thermal spray production cells and develop CNC and robot programs for Motoman/Yaskawa systems.
  • Create and improve weld and assembly jigs and fixtures to support production efficiency.
  • Develop and manage multi-level bills of materials, and communicate changes through the production Change Order Process.
  • Conduct time studies and cost estimations to support continuous improvement and management decision-making.
  • Assist with daily requests from the estimating department and prepare capital expenditure requests with justification.
  • Participate in Engineering Order process meetings and ensure smooth implementation through production change orders.
  • Update or create production work instructions and design optimal layouts for equipment and workspace to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with planning and design teams on product design and tooling to ensure effective production methods.
  • Engage with vendors to specify products, arrange purchases, and evaluate equipment and materials based on quality standards.
  • Support production supply needs and coordinate with management, engineering, customers, and staff to facilitate production processes.
  • Apply statistical methods to predict future manufacturing needs and potential.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two to seven years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical data packages, schematics, models, and drawings.
  • Extensive CAM programming experience, preferably with Motoman/Yaskawa software.
  • Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting to groups and interacting with staff.
  • Competence in basic math, including calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Skills in data entry, Microsoft Office, CAD, CAM, CNC programming, and troubleshooting robots and CNC machines.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes, assembly techniques, and tool use.

The Manufacturing Engineer will contribute to the optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring high standards of production efficiency and quality.
