JOB SUMMARY

The Scaffold Lead is responsible for leading the Alpine Scaffold Crew in all phases of scaffold erection, modification, demo, and inspection. The Scaffold Lead will work closely with leads and workers from other crafts to plan work. This position is part of a multi-craft group and will be expected to support light projects, well work and facility needs as directed. Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

•Must demonstrate and promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures for work performed, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation of task and accept accountability for safe work practices.

•Support, encourage and participate in all AES and CPAI safety processes to include Audits, Near Misses, Good Catches, MBWAs, PREP Alaska, and SIMS.

•Must be familiar with working inside a live Oil & Gas process facility and on active drilling well pads.

•Must have experience in leading journeyman and apprentice scaffold builders.

•Must be a Level 3 and / or Journeyman Scaffold builder and lead in the erection and dismantling of diverse types of scaffolds.

•Must support crafts including, but not limited to mechanical, piping, structural, insulation, instrumentation, corrosion inspection, electricians, facility and operations.

•Must understand best practice and safe practice uses for working with hand tools, power tools, electric and pneumatic tools.

•Must work in extreme conditions to include heights, heat and remote locations. Applicants with aversions to these conditions should not apply.

•Must effectively coordinate personnel, equipment, tools and material needs to maintain safety and efficiency.

•Must be able to work in confined spaces and wear respirators.

•Must be willing to learn and perform duties outside their normal craft.

•Must ensure crews are conducting their work in a safe manner.

•Ensure that there are effective communications taking place.

•Assist Foreman in coordinating and directing work and ensure that time is used in a productive manner.

•Be able and willing to make decisions about daily tasks and give the crew directions.

•Participate in toolbox meetings.

•Encourage workers to maintain a safe and productive attitude.

•Monitor and report status of current projects, participate and add input to work related projects.

•Ensure environmental compliance with all waste management, remediation, erosion control, storm water and gravel work projects and other daily tasks.

•Required to prepare and process diverse types of documentation including but not limited to permits.

•Must be able to read and interpret P&ID’s and Isometric drawings, and able to make scaffold layout plans and material take off list from those drawings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

•A valid Driver’s License issued within the U.S is required.

•A High School Diploma or GED is required.

•The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 2x2 rotation is required.

•A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.

•A Level 3 Journeyman Scaffolder certification is required.

•A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Scaffold Lead is required.

•A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in leadership is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Mechanical Piping Bolt Up, Line Lift Procedures, Insulation, and/or Carpentry in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, and/or in an Arctic environment is preferred.

·A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in the Alpine field is preferred.
