Under the supervision of an Engineering Manager, the Designer performs a variety of design/drafting activities for the Engineering group including preparing/updating drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, and creating such drawings in both 2D and 3D formats. They are responsible for designing products using computer-aided design software applications such as AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, Inventor and SolidWorks.

Key Job Elements
• Use software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects;
• Using AutoCad software to design and create new drawings and maintain existing drawings;
• Using Excel to create Engineering Change Notices and perform calculations;
• Using Autodesk Inventor to create and maintain 3D models;
• Using LN MRP system to create and maintain Bills of Material;
• Collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems;
• Knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and materials;
• Ability to analyze data and situation and come up with creative solutions;
• Working with external customers and internal management to meet deadlines and customer’s specifications;
• Communicating with all levels of personnel in the plant, including spending time on the production floor to learn the products and the operation;
• Report to plant Design Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience
• Skill Level I – Entry level with basic system’s knowledge;
• Skill Level II – 2-5 years of experience;
• Skill Level III – 5+ years of experience with Associate’s degree or higher in related field;
• AutoCad, Inventor and/or 3d modeling Software proficiency;
• Ability to write and perform routine mathematical calculations clearly and correctly;
• Honest and ethical;
• Pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude;
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel;
• Reliable, responsible, and dependable, and diligent in fulfilling obligations.
