We are seeking a skilled Construction Inspector I to join our team at the Texas Department of Transportation. As a key member of our workforce, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of Texas roadways.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Conduct thorough inspections of construction methods and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans and specifications

• Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve construction issues and ensure project progress

• Analyze procedures to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes to management

• Ensure contractors build roadways, bridges, and related highway structures in accordance with approved safety standards

• Document work progress and issues arising throughout the scope of the project

**Requirements**

• High school graduate or equivalent

• 4 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and repairs, construction inspection, engineering support, materials, or process inspection

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
