**Purpose statement: **

The Master Electrician’s prime responsibility is to support the daily production activities by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing electrical, packaging and bakery equipment. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the plant. The master electrician's responsibilities also include using a number of tools to install and service electrical systems, observing company safety guidelines, documenting each project and updating client records, providing material cost and time estimates, and training apprentices. You should also be able to easily diagnose electrical faults and provide excellent customer service.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL DUTIES): **

The elimination of breakdowns is of prime importance.Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipmentInstalls power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipmentConnects power supply wires to machines and equipmentDiagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as: transformers, motors, and lighting fixturesReplaces faulty electrical components of machines such as: relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devicesPerforms routine work assignments competently in the following disciplines:InstrumentationPackaging and Process Control SystemP-L-C able to connect and go online, replacing input/output cardsPerforms troubleshooting techniques in a logical manner on complex machinery including replacing motors, relays, transformers, and safety relaysPrepares work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS/EAM)Responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all site equipment as requiredSources and prepares parts from stores for use in all repairs, W/O and PM’s as requiredPrepare basic dimensioned sketches when requiredReads and understands technical bulletins, manuals, instructions, blueprints and installs electrical parts in panelPositive participation in all maintenance team meetingCommunicate and train production staff on electrical hazards and techniques in maintenance when requiredPerforms changeover of equipment following production scheduleMaintain site programs, Lockout, Confined space, Arc Flash and Electrical Safety, Etc.Supports the development of autonomous (operator), preventive and predictive electrical maintenanceContributes to the solution of general maintenance problems by observation followed by constructive discussion with his supervisor and/or co-workersProvide technical support and guidance to the continuous improvement teamThis position may also call upon to perform other duties not specifically outlined by this job description

**TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: **

Solid working knowledge of the WI Electrical Code and Safety requirements including Arc Flash Safety is required.Experience in the Food Industry is an asset with familiarity regarding Food Safety and audit requirementsDemonstrate competency using Electrical test equipment such as meters etc. for troubleshooting electrical systems and componentsMinimum 5 years’ experience performing complex work assignments in the discipline with normal supervisionExperience in maintenance function within manufacturing environment (including food industry in general, and at least 1-year large-scale bakery experience)
