You will assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring that each individual's dietary requirements are met. Additionally, you will engage in recreational activities and provide companionship to promote social interaction and emotional well-being. This position offers some flexibility in scheduling, making it ideal for those seeking after-school, evening, and weekend shifts.

What you need to be successful

To excel in the role of a Direct Support Professional/Caregiver at Wee Care Corp, there are several skills and qualifications that are necessary for success. First and foremost, caregiving experience is highly valued. The ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs is essential.

Additionally, experience in habilitation, respite care, direct care, and homecare will be valuable in performing the duties of this position. Having certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is helpful to ensure the safety and well-being of those we support. Knowledge of Article 9, which pertains to the rights of individuals receiving services, is also important in upholding their rights and promoting a respectful environment.

Familiarity with DCW (Direct Care Worker) responsibilities and protocols is advantageous. This includes understanding the proper procedures for assisting with personal care, medication administration, and documentation.
