Volt is immediately hiring for a Buyer for a local leading manufacturing company in San Diego, CA - Otay Mesa.
As a Buyer you will:
  • Place purchase orders for materials based on demand and requirements in support of production; includes expediting, scheduling and coordinating shipments
  • Track and update the status of ordered goods and services in the company ERP system
  • Manage supplier relationships, including price discrepancies, contractual requirements, logistics, non-conforming materials and other matters or issues
  • Coordinate with Accounting and vendors on any payable issues to find resolution; communicates with other internal departments as needed
  • Plan and coordinates manufacturing orders and PO to subsidiaries as needed
  • Partner with other internal departments for process reviews and process improvements
  • Maintain updated vendor and purchased item cards, lead times, prices, etc., in support of data integrity
  • Responsible for other duties and projects as assigned

This is a full time temporary opportunity.
The ideal Candidate will have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.) required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in purchasing/buying and/or project management, preferrably in a manufacturing related industry
  • Solid Microsoft Office and technical skills, including prior experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP and GP preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring timely response time to internal and external customers
  • Detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to navigate changing environments and ambiguity
  • Able to multi-task and manage priorities appropriately

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $30 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
