We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Outside Sales Representative
Beacon Building Products is the largest publicly traded distributor of roofing and exterior building products in North America. For nearly 100 years professional builders, remodelers and construction professionals have relied on Beacon to help them build more.
Our team of more than 6,500 employees throughout North America works to ensure contractors have immediate, local access to the building supplies and roofing products they need, exactly when they need them. Through strategic investments in technology and an ever-expanding network of locations throughout the United States and Canada, we help contractors save time, manage their work more efficiently, and enhance their business.
We are currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative to service customers inside of our Wallingford, CT territory. This position will report to the Branch Manager.
Position Description
In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for Beacon’s relationship with professional contractors and builders in your territory. Outside Sales Representatives help their customers build more, by understanding their business and providing solutions that help them save time, work more efficiently and keep their projects on track. In this role you will have a very competitive base salary, along with an uncapped commission program, car package and industry leading benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Sell exterior building materials such as roofing, siding, windows and waterproofing across assigned territory. Drive profitable growth and achievement of monthly / yearly sales and margin budgets. Identify new opportunities through prospecting and project tracking. Become an expert on all things Beacon (products & services). Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customer base and vendor partners. Coordinate with branch team to ensure a positive customer experience is being provided from the order to the delivery and beyond. Use Salesforce and other sales reports to understand your market and make educated decisions. Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field. Travel extensively within assigned market.The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous sales experience with a proven track record of success. Familiarity with construction, building materials or wholesale distribution a plus. Strong verbal a written communication skills. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and employees. Must be action oriented, able to work in changing environment and work through complexity. High comfort level with technology. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and in a team setting. Personal integrity and exemplary ethical standards.
