The Certified Financial Planner™ program at The Ohio State University seeks to hire a CFP® Program Co-Director. This staff position will support OSU’s growing CFP® financial planning program through three primary tasks: 1) coordinate CFP® program completion of underrepresented and diverse students by expanding student mentoring and training. 2) organize enrollment and talent pipeline into the CFP® program; and 3) accelerate placement of undergraduate students in the independent RIA profession post-graduation.

This term-based, 80% part-time position is for 32 hours/week from August 15, 2024 to May 15, 2025, working on the grant-funded project “Accelerate Mentorship, Recruitment, and Job Placement of Diverse and Underrepresented Students in the CFP® Program at The Ohio State University.” A comprehensive benefits package is provided, including health insurance benefits.

The ideal candidate has work experience of 3 to 5 years in higher education and financial services, or related fields. Experience with undergraduate curricula and financial planning software is preferred. A master's degree is preferred but not required. If interested and qualified, the individual can teach, for additional pay, courses in our CFP® program. Continued part-time employment at 24 hours/week may also be possible on this five-year grant.

40%- Increase CFP® program completion of underrepresented and diverse students by expanding student mentoring and training. Develop fintech component for CFP® courses; work with CFP® course instructors to implement and schedule fintech components in existing CFP® courses and hire fintech instructor; evaluate fintech component. Update syllabi for FINRA SIE and Series 65 courses as needed; assist in hiring FINRA SIE and Series 65 course instructors; evaluate the two courses . Assist in designing student mentoring pathways in collaboration with academic advising; coordinate and review mentoring pathways. 

40% - Increase enrollment and talent pipeline into the CFP® program. Coordinate with OSU Marketing and support all aspects of the design of a marketing campaign, its implementation, and evaluation. Lead efforts to participate in on-campus student events, especially financial planning career fair, OSU student involvement fair, industry-panel discussions, networking across student organizations

20% - Accelerate placement in the independent RIA profession post-graduation. Design industry in-residence program and recruit industry leaders/ Plan and host guest speakers, expert panels for CFP® courses. Evaluate student placement.
