This position is responsible for managing all internal audit and risk management consulting activity within Optum Bank and Optum Financial. Responsible for managing the performance of the financial, business process and information systems audits and special projects to assess the existence, effectiveness and efficiency of the business controls, financial information, and compliance with laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have treasury experience including but not limited to interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and investment portfolio, BSA/AML, Payment/cash management systems, NACHA, FDICIA/SOX, vendor management, experience reviewing FDIC regulations/guidelines, bank regulatory reporting, commercial and consumer loans.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform internal audits including audit planning, detailing control procedures and related testing and reporting in accordance with professional and departmental standards – including financial (Sarbanes-Oxley and FDICIA testing) and operational projectsProvide managerial oversight over more complex and/or highly visible audit and advisory engagementsDrive risk assessment processes in partnership with Director(s) and VP(s) to ensure that audit plans cover higher risk areas. For all audit projects for Optum Financial and Optum Bank, develop/approve the project risk assessment, audit objectives, scope and audit programMaintain effective communications with all levels of management, including Optum Bank senior leadership and Audit Committee to foster a collaborative atmosphereCreate, review, and approve pertinent audit workpapers and communications of audit results. Workpapers should comply with department and IIA standards for content and qualityManage 5-6 direct reports. Provide staff with professional and technical expertise and guidance to ensure that audit objectives and scope are satisfied. This includes assisting staff members and audit contractors in the development and negotiation of audit recommendations and responses, evaluating the performance of the audit team, and providing guidance regarding department and company policies and proceduresLead/Participate in special projects undertaken by the department and/or the CompanyAct as a mentor for other management team members across IAASEnsure IAAS resources are effectively scheduled and deployed across audit engagementsManage larger teams with a larger span of controls

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, technology or related discipline10+ years of Banking, internal audit, and/or public accounting experience5+ years Internal Audit or Risk Management experience in banking environmentSarbanes-Oxley / FDICIA internal control experienceHave a solid understanding of auditing concepts and principles and how to apply themSolid interpersonal skills while working effectively with a teamSolid oral and written communication skillsDesire to make a positive impact with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shift prioritiesDemonstrated capability of building strong, high performing teamsDemonstrated capability to manage a variety of differing priorities and commitment

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant assurance certification (CPA, CFE, CIA or CISA)12+ years of relevant Bank industry business experience including audit experienceA thorough understanding of risk and internal control concepts and their practical applicationExperience in health insurance systems is desirableExperience working in a complex IT/IS environment is desirableDemonstrated creativity and initiative in enabling business solutions Excellent strategic skills and proven ability to lead change
