Precision Pumping Systems in Columbia, SC is hiring for a Production Runner/General Laborer.

Job Summary:

The production laborer/runner performs important tasks to keep production running efficiently while ensuring customer needs and production schedules get met. The job includes driving and operating company vehicles to deliver and pick up material from a variety of outside vendors and most custom locations. They are also responsible for daily production support needs. The position is self-directed and collaborative. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive and operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up material from a variety of outside vendors and customer locations.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally to vendors, and external and internal customers to coordinate and improve driving efficiency.
  • Validate all paperwork and materials during pick-ups or delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and shop areas.
  • Provide support and help for production needs.
  • Verify your work and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
  • Work independently or with a team.
  • Utilize safe, quality practices.
  • Facilitate manufacturing by having an organized, clean work area.
  • Record time for each job as needed
  • Package pumping systems for shipment.
  • Cross-train and learn other functions as needed.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to drive 3/4-ton trucks, tow and back a trailer.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience using power tools
  • Experience with driving a forklift is a plus
  • Excellent follow-through and communication is a plus
  • Experience with organizing, cleaning, and attention to details is a plus
  • Ability to drive vehicles and coordinate traffic while navigating unfamiliar roads is a plus
  • Excellence in coordinating details us a plus
  • Valid CDL is preferred

Job Type: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
