Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Entry to Mid-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to assist in growing Tetra Tech’s Texas environmental business. Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel as needed, possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement.
Your Role:
Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Preparation and/or review of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, safety plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets. Assist Project Managers with planning environmental investigation and remediation tasks. The preparation of charts, boring logs, and cross-sections depicting subsurface conditions. Field work will include but is not limited to directing the installation of soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells, groundwater/soil sampling, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight. Prepare subcontracts (Federal and/or civilian) and coordinate all aspects of subcontractor tasks including schedule, logistics, health, and safety. Communicate effectively and work with regulators and other stakeholders with or on behalf of clients to further project delivery and success. The position may require extensive outdoor work as well as extended overnight travel and weekend work. Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications:
BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences or geologic sciences required. Two to six years’ experience in the environmental industry or related environmental consulting experience. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel required. ArcGIS experience is a plus. Applicant must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills. Previous experience with site investigations, remediation, sampling, and knowledge of TCEQ and RRC cleanup programs. Applicant must also be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with remediation of heavy industry and RCRA related sites. Compliance and hazardous waste management experience. SPCC and SWPPP compliance experience. Knowledge of laboratory analytical testing and data validation/interpretation.About Tetra Tech:
