Job Summary:

The Team Leader reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for the supervision of clerical/business staff and functions. Responsible for the development of guidelines for clerical staff assignments and rotations, evaluate effectiveness and modify work activities of staff as needed, ensuring appropriate staffing, approval of time off requests and time sheet completion. Will be responsible for clerical staff hiring, orientation, engagement, recognition, evaluations, counseling/disciplinary/dismissal actions. Monitor and evaluate department clerical data and quality, perform required reporting, provide feedback and education to clerical staff. Participates in Ambulatory Team Leader meetings, maintains up-to-date clerical business operations, educating staff promptly on changes. Works with the Nurse Manager on new department initiatives, spearheads clerical business functions. Acts as first line of contact for patients and families, promptly addressing patient issues with appropriate resources. Will provide guidance and support to staff and facilitate open lines of communication with staff, the health care team, patients and families. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and three years of relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Exceptional verbal and written customer services skills required. Ability to handle multiple projects, computer proficiency, plus excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills required. Supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in ambulatory or medical office setting preferred.

Work Days:

Primarily M-F days- may require some off shift/weekend/minor holiday as needed
