Summary

The Field Safety Specialist assists and aids in inspections on jobsites for safety compliance, safety procedures and quality control measures for Preston Refrigeration.

Essential Functions

This position directly impacts corporate profitability and requires the following:

· The Field Safety Specialist will assist with compliance to the existing quality assurance program.

· Possess the ability to update and maintain the guidelines and elements of the quality assurance program when regulations change.

· Documents & communicates any deficiencies found to Project Manager and Safety Department.

· Coordinate safety inspection audits that validate all project requirements at jobsite.

· Assists field crews with valve tagging, labeling, validating with checklists.

· Conducts onsite safety paperwork, for field personnel, including toolbox talks.

· Collects equipment data and pictures from refrigeration equipment and compiles into internal spreadsheet for recordkeeping and checklists.

· Ensures consistent quality of production and installation of ammonia refrigeration systems on a given project.

· Assists Safety Department with PSM related projects.

· Complies with safety regulations and provides technical support to field and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.

· Willingness to travel as needed throughout the continental US with overnight stays.

· Adheres to Preston Refrigeration guidelines for expense reports and submits to Payroll Specialist in a timely manner.

· Maintain a neat and clean appearance and motivated, positive attitude.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Competencies

· Bachelor degree; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to travel 75% of the time with overnight stays when required.

· Prior product familiarization/knowledge.

· Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel.

· Effective communication skills.

· Knowledge of blueprint reading, and interpretation is required.

· Preferred OSHA 30 and Process Safety Management experience.

· Preferred experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.

· Preferred experience with weld procedures, processes, and inspections.
