We are currently searching for a talented Structural Bridge Engineer in our Southwest Region located in Cottonwood Heights, UT . Relocation assistance available if needed. 

What you’ll be doing:

Perform calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs Review calculations and design details developed by others Perform load ratings on bridges of various type, size, and complexity Prepare structural drawings in MicroStation and AutoCAD Bridge inspections Review shop drawings and other related construction submittals Organize and maintain project files Cost estimating for various structural elements Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule, and project constraints Working closely and effectively communicating with team members

What you need to have:

B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program. M.S. in Structural Engineering a plus 3-7 years of engineering experience in bridge design Course level or recent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge design EIT certification is required Professional Engineering License (PE) in Utah or ability to obtain is preferred Structural Engineering License (SE) in Utah or ability to obtain is preferred Familiarity with bridge analysis software, MicroStation, or AutoCAD is preferred Strong skills using MS Excel and MS Word Strong interpersonal and communication skills Must have the ability to immediately work in the United States on a full-time permanent basis Characteristics of a successful Volkert team member:Be a brand ambassador for the company who engages in diversity and inclusionBe self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environmentExercise initiative and independent judgement in the solution of work problemsBe able to communicate effectively- verbal and writtenBe able to multi-task in a team environment
