GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.We have an exciting opportunity for a Loads, Dynamics, and Test Engineer at our General Atomics Systems Integration (GA-SI) group in Kaysville, UT. Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for determining and developing effective approaches for resolving a wide range of difficult engineering problems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for performing structural analysis (static and dynamic) of aircraft components, assemblies, test fixtures and systems while working in an integrated team.Performs Finite Element Analysis of metallic structures by utilizing computer analysis methods and classical hand-calculation methods. Analysis may include stress, stability, high and low cycle fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture analysis, random vibration, shock, development of loads from time histories, etc.Supports the development of structural test plans, instrumentation requirements, on-site testing, and test data analysis.Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results. Work is reviewed at milestones or at completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.Documents findings, communicates results to engineering staff and makes technical presentations as required. May coordinate segments of a specific project and may have frequent inter- organization and customer contact on difficult technical issues.Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.Communicates effectively and professionally in all interactions through both written and verbal methods.Plans for future applications of solutions based on new developments in engineering technology and approaches.Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of General Atomics.
