Responsibilities

The Coord, Respiratory Care assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates programs of education and staff development utilizing adult teaching and learning principles for both RT and nursing staff education related to respiratory care functions. Works with clinical resources to coordinate education and serves as a role model. He/she will have demonstrated knowledge, skills and behaviors for neonate/infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric customers, as appropriate, based upon specific criteria, and/or age specific considerations. Provide quality care as ordered by the patient's physicians. Responsible for the initiation of respiratory protocols and/or the evaluation of protocol steps that include all modalities of therapy. Serves as a member of the patient care team to assess, develop care plans, evaluate appropriateness of respiratory care modalities, and assist with discharge planning as needed. Maintains current knowledge via hospital and department communication tools. Identifies problems and recommends ideas and solutions and demonstrates critical thinking skills.


Qualifications

Required:

Three years respiratory care Bachelor Degree Bachelor in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology Registered Respiratory Therapist (National) AND Respiratory Therapist (State) AND One of: ACCS or NPS within one year of hire.
