Responsibilities

The Pediatric Respiratory Sleep Tech serves as a member of the patient care team to assess and evaluate the appropriateness of respiratory care / polysomnographic modalities as integrated within the performance of patient care and all types of polysomnographic testing. This includes, but is not limited to, providing quality care as ordered by the patient's physician, performing all types of Diagnostic testing (Polysomnography and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests) and Therapeutic Testing (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) Titrations and Split PAP studies), adhering to Norton Healthcare Mechanical Ventilation Guidelines as applicable to the Sleep Testing Facility and providing patient and family education related to medications, ordered testing and sleep disorders to assessed level of learning and skills. The Pediatric Respiratory Sleep Tech also participates in performance improvement projects as well as education opportunities for all staff as needed, identifying problems and recommending ideas and solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

* Associate Degree Respiratory Therapy
* One of: CRT or RRT - within 12 months of hire
* One of: RPGST or RST or SDS - within 12 months of hire
* Respiratory Therapist (State) (KY)

Desired:

* One year in a pediatric respiratory setting.
* Certified Respiratory Therapist (National)
* Registered Respiratory Therapist (National)
* Registered Sleep Technologist
* Sleep Disorders Specialty (National)
