Nurse Manager
The Nurse Manager is a key leadership role within the health center, that ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The Nurse Manager works closely and collaboratively with the practice managers within a dyad model, providing clinical oversight and supervision for nurses.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise and mentor a team of RNs and LVNs.
- Assess staff development needs and plan ongoing education programs, in collaboration with practice managers and other roles as needed
- Ensure that nursing staff meet both safety/risk management standards and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Oversee patient care quality through observations and chart reviews
- Ensure that clinical staff have current certification and licensures requirements.
- Recruit, retain, and evaluate nursing staff
- Articulate, teach, interpret, and enforce health policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Manage specialized program areas such as Quality Improvement, Utilization Management, Infection Control, or Epidemiology, as required.
- Provide clinical supervision and professional development of the nursing staff.
- Develop clinical workflows, protocols, policies, and procedures related to nursing functions and duties
- Collaborate with practice managers to ensure nursing functions are met and are aligned with care team unit quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Current unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BSN required, MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Experience working in an FQHC or similar healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
