Position Overview

The Terminal Manager is responsible for supervising daily operations and all operational activities at the terminal to include recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, developing, and retaining a best-in-class team. This role includes managing all operational duties, ensuring efficient performance, and maintaining a high standard of service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intermodal transportation, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to managing terminal operations.

Important Job Functions

Perform necessary administrative tasks to support terminal operations. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate. Oversee and manage all activities within the depot, ensuring optimal performance. Train employees and regularly audit their work to ensure compliance and efficiency. Handle the recruitment process for new employees, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates. Daily review and manage out-of-service equipment to minimize downtime. Order and maintain parts inventory to ensure operational readiness. Handle all customer communications related to maintenance and repair (M&R) issues, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Provide constructive feedback to staff to enhance performance and address issues. Create a safe and positive working environment where employees feel included, recognized, and heard Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices, and standards that uphold IMC core values Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of intermodal transportation and port operations is essential. Minimum of 2 years of experience in port operations, dispatch, and working with owner operators. Expert knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous materials Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with staff and customers. Perform other duties as assigned to support terminal operations.
