Technical Product Manager

As a Technical Product Manager, you will help drive the creation of detailed product requirements and stories, working within the product team but closely on a daily basis with engineering. Like a technical solution manager or product owner, you will help craft the details that define how new products/features/functions will work to meet the product vision. Working from within the product team, you will also help drive the overall product direction and roadmap, understand the core customer problems being addressed firsthand and ensure the customer’s voice is heard and problems are solved in the solutions you help define. This role will have some focus on a few specific products/features in order to balance the work appropriately.

Responsibilities Include:

Collaborate across the company to discuss product ideas with product managers, engineering and design (and sometimes legal and others) to gather input and requirements.  Write detailed Epics and User Stories (in Confluence) for new products, features, and functions and drive the share-out, collection of feedback and iteration on these Epics and Stories until they are well defined, including analytics goals/KPIs/metrics.  Drive consensus for the solution path selected for execution to best meet target launch timeframes and other business goals (cost, time to market, etc). Write detailed requirements/tasks in Jira that break down these higher level Epics and User Stories into individual features/functions that can be delivered in a sprintDraft wireframes, logic flows and other diagrams to aid in conveying product requirements along with making and delivering presentations  Assist in QA/Test and bug reporting not as a true QA tester but as a product owner testing out your own product, help review and prioritize critical bugs  Provide product demonstrations, final product overview presentations, and work with the product analytics team to highlight KPIs and understand overall product performance Help manage backlog prioritization and sprint releases for your specific product area

Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related field Minimum 2 years experience as a software engineer, Android/iOS mobile apps preferredFamiliar with Agile SW development, development/QA cycles, sprints/releases Very proficient English speaking and writing, good communicator overallStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. Interest in understanding the “why” and “problems being addressed” behind what a team is building Looking to transition, or already transitioned, into product management, product owner or a related role and keen to leverage your technical background in product Strong project management skills, able to take projects from an idea to a fully documented finish. Enjoys evangelizing, can make and give presentations, analyze data for data-driven decision making, and pivot with new learnings or feedback.
