As of November Esse Health has partnered in creating Surround Care. Also headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Esse Health and Navvis will operate as subsidiaries of Surround Care, the newly formed parent company. A first-of-its-kind company, Surround Care combines innovation with practical applications and proven capabilities to accelerate the change needed across health systems, physician enterprises, and health plans in population health and value-based care. Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the President creates vision and provides principal strategic, operational, and financial leadership to the organization. This role leads, develops, and executes strategy through the executive team: CFO, CMO, COO, General Counsel, VP of Human Resources, VP of Corporate Development and VP of Clinical Programs. Member of a six-person executive team collaborating on both organization wide initiatives and strategic priorities. This role is instrumental in the management and growth of the organization through leading and/or overseeing the following essential functions: Strategic planning, Provider and staff relationships, Delivery of healthcare services, Fiscal Management, Compliance, Community, and other business relationships. *Given the current Esse Health CEO's growth pattern, there is a plan in place for the newly hired President to succeed the current CEO in short order. With that said, this individual must demonstrate the experience and current ability to move the organization forward.  Job Essentials, Duties and Responsibilities: Board Administration and Physician Owners Supports the operations and administration of the Board of Directors by maintaining continual, open, and effective communication with members and physician stakeholders. Works with Board Chair and Board of Directors to develop and implement business plans and annual strategic initiatives. Stays current with industry and governmental conditions and the potential impact to Esse Health’s policies and operations, and in collaboration with the Board of Directors, develops the tactics to implement short-term and long-term strategic goals. Develops and maintains critical relationships with physician owners and other providers. Strategic Planning Assures company structure is appropriate to accomplish strategic initiatives and in alignment with mission, vision, and values. Recognizes and evaluates trends and makes recommendations for strategic plans and action steps. Ensures the strategic plan is articulated both internally and externally. Effectively delegates key activities to ensure timely execution and actualization of the strategic plan initiatives. Creates and actualizes business diversification to grow and sustain the viability of Esse Health. Responsible for rebranding initiatives and oversight of brand development. Provider and Staff Relationships In partnership with the VP of Human Resources - Recognizes the ongoing strength and success of Esse Health relies in our people resources and engages all members of the workforce appropriately to meet our mission. Creates a culture of lean and continuous improvement. Develops physician leaders. Establishes cultural competence guidelines to support a diverse workforce. Creates an internal communication strategy to keep the workforce informed appropriately. Delivery of Healthcare Services In collaboration with the CMO & COO - Has overall responsibility for the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, risk management, and quality of all Esse Health services provided to our communities. Ensures that policies and practices effectively support sound and safe patient care, and that the delivery of healthcare services provide the highest level of a positive experience to the patient. Fiscal Management In partnership with the CFO - Recommends an annual budget for Board approval and ensures prudent management of resources within those budget guidelines. Optimizes cash flows, minimizes expenses, and ensures overall sustained profitability of organization. Ensures that appropriate financial controls are established and maintained. Compliance In collaboration with General Counsel - Ensures Esse complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations as they apply to the operation of the business. Oversees the negotiation of professional, consultant and service contracts. Participates in issues surrounding ethics and quality. Community and Other Business Relationships Represent Esse's key interests in relationship with Surround Care and Navvis. Through exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, assures that Esse and its mission, programs, and essential services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders: patients, employees, physician owners, other providers, community partners, governmental agencies. Builds and leverages external partnerships to drive strategy. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Significant knowledge  Fiscal management, governmental regulations, and reimbursement policies. Medical and/or insurance industry practices. Business plan and strategic plan development and implementation.
