Do you want to join us in making a difference in the lives of people surviving power-based violence?  The Center for Women and Families  is looking for warm, caring, empathetic individuals driven by a desire to help others The  Lead Crisis Response Advocate  will help to move toward our vision of thriving survivors in safe communities. 

The Center for Women and Families  provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of trauma by reducing their risk factors and building their resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana. 

The Lead Crisis Response Advocate (CRA) is responsible for training and mentoring new staff. They model exemplary performance to all staff and volunteers. The Lead CRA provides shift oversight to call center operations and engages in crisis response program initiatives. They are responsible for providing direct service to clients in a 24/7 call center environment as well as training and instruction for new employees.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, advocacy, information, referrals, and supportive services to clients, via call center and walk-in environments. Document prompt and timely interactions with clients and other relevant activities to support continuous improvement and examine program goals and outcomes. Guide new CRAs through curriculum of new hire learning. Set benchmarks for expectations and communicate additional training needs to supervisors and directors. Facilitate New Advocate Training modules as part of 40-hour training for new staff and volunteers. Participate and conduct conflict resolution with peers as needed. Participate in call center interview and hiring processes. Participate in cross-team collaboration efforts to ensure skill sharing, communication about program updates, etc. Participate in critical incident debriefing team to support staff in processing difficult situations that can have agency wide impact. Participate in special projects as assigned. Engage as an active contributor to Call Center and Centerwide initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements. Fluency in languages other than English are a plus Developed sense of empathy Conflict mediation skills De-escalation skills Critical thinking skills Self-starter Organizational skills
