Director of Athletics - Cardinal Newman High School

Cardinal Newman High School, located in West Palm Beach, FL is searching for a full time Director of position is Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm; as needed, flexible schedule to facilitate retreats and service opportunities.

Summary:

The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for nurturing the spiritual life of students, faculty, and staff at Cardinal Newman High School by providing opportunities for faith formation, prayer, and Christian fellowship. The Director of Campus Ministry will coordinate and collaborate with the school administration to guide the school according to its mission.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities of the Director of Athletics:

The Director of Athletics is responsible for nurturing the athletic teams and students participating in them at Cardinal Newman High School by providing opportunities for practice and competition. The Director of Athletics will coordinate and collaborate with the school administration to guide the school according to its mission.

Oversee day to day operations/processes to ensure that all athletic programs are operating efficiently Fundraising: all aspects from concept to execution, in conjunction with the school’s Director of Development Financial: Daily oversight of budget/financial standing of each program and athletic department, in conjunction with the school’s Director of Finance Strategic Planning: Both at the program level but also at athletic department level within school community Working with head coaches on program development, as well as ensuring the athletic department is parallel with other departments in furthering the school’s mission and vision within the school community’s athletic experience. Evaluation of each program/head coach Game Coverage: 3-4 nights per week with help from assistants FHSAA: Official FHSAA rep to ensure compliance and good standing with organization Communication: Preparing weekly communication to the school community, communicating with parents, AD’s, FHSAA, officials, etc. Social Media: overseeing all aspects of social media Transportation: Developing transportation calendar for all teams/programs Logistics: Overseeing internal/external practice and game calendars Facilities/Maintenance: working with school to ensure all aspects of athletic facilities are safe/playable to championship standards To give witness and example of Catholic values. To follow all policies and procedures of the Diocese. To develop healthy professional relationships. Ability and willingness to work effectively with colleagues. To support the total school program. To assume a personal responsibility for contributing to the work of the school. To support and exemplify in conduct and/or instruction both Catholic doctrine and morality; to refrain from any action which would reflect discredit on the Roman Catholic Church or be detrimental to its religious doctrines or tenets. Qualifications:

State Certification in Athletic Administration, Physical Education, School Administration, or related field is preferred Master’s degree preferred 3-5 years school experience preferred Excellent and professional interpersonal skills. Honor confidentiality and code of conduct agreement Ability to work effectively with peers Ability to make sound decisions Strong organizational skills Ability to use office equipment (fax, computer, copier, iPad, etc.) Willing to become proficient in computer and iPad applications used by the school Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, departments heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public. Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills. Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capacity. Ability to stay focused and organized. Strong ethical values.
