Manufacturing Tooling Supervisor
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Tooling Supervisor to lead and oversee their tooling operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes by managing tooling development, maintenance, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing tooling, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to quality and safety.
This position will report directly to the Production/Engineering Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish the standards for injection/compression molding systems
Develop an optimized processes based on sound engineering principles
Document all molding system set-up requirements
Support the production ramp-up phase for new products
Ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance for injection molding systems
Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action
Responsible to manage departments within their respective budgets
Lead tool design reviews
Ensure that all parties have approved a tool design prior to issuing instruction
Provide automation team with direction
Approve final automation direction
Drive continual improvements across all areas
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the development and implementation of improvements and/or solutions
Development and implementation of functional and cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans.
Determines priorities, timelines, resource assignments and provides employee performance feedback and reviews.
Accountable for the activities and results of their subordinates.
Interpreting and integrating customer business strategies into appropriate manufacturing action plans.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment includes exposure to Operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, constant noise, grease, dirt or oil. Constant exposure to moving parts and equipment requires high degree of caution and safety to avoid minor or serious injury. Temperature regulated work environment in addition to exposure to extremely warm or cold outside conditions or areas of the facility that are not temperature regulated.
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution required
Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience
Experience in plastic injection molding or tooling processes, preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Project leadership experience and demonstrated ability
Experience in Operation Excellence, preferred
