Job Overview & Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
Head athletic trainer at assigned school
Appropriately assesses and examines athletes with varying diagnoses according to the Athletic Training scope of practice.
Administers immediate first aid and care based on nature of injury, including follow-up with physician as appropriate.
Follow and support ATC Standards, expectations and Policy and Procedures, ensuring consistency among sites.
The ATC communicates with the athlete, physician, coach, and family regularly.
Communicating expectations and employees role in relation to overall clinic success.
Calendar reporting of school and community events
Coordinate scheduling of personnel in conjunction with athletic training team and community organizations
Hiring, onboarding, mentoring and reporting, Performance Reviews, action plans etc.
Enforce P&P adherence via PARs
Weekly Huddle Call hosting and follow up
Monthly Staff meeting- ensure team attends
Payroll/time card/PTO approval
Enforce adherence to PT Solutions time commitments and school contract obligations
PRN Support scheduling- coordinating with senior head athletic trainer and scheduler
Rounding on direct reports weekly/monthly by season
Mentoring direct reports and reporting findings
Site visit for questions, team building, coverage support for assigned school athletic trainers


Additional Responsibilities

Appropriately recommend healthcare services when applicable.
Use additional resources for appropriate patient care needs.
Assist with patient care needs and scheduling when necessary.
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Develop and maintain updated master schedule.
Work in collaboration with team and supervisor to drive consistency of scheduling and athletic training coverage.
Maintain accurate scheduling records.

Qualifications & Pay Range:

Required Skills & Abilities
Strong interpersonal, oral (includes telephone skills) and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills and an ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
Complete understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles including basic math skills.
Ability to work with disabled individuals.
Knowledge of state collection laws where applicable.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to use all necessary office equipment, faxes, copiers, etc.
Required to be proficient in Windows based technologies (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
Completion of age-specific competencies and able to demonstrate age-specific treatments provided in clinic and/or school location.
Clinical proficiency in treatments consistent with clinic programs.

Required Credentials
Bachelors Degree in Health & Physical Education or related field.
Licensure appropriate to governing body of state licensing board.
Current CPR card.

No previous or current sanctions by federal payors (CMS, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Champus/Tricare, etc) or other payors inclusive of state workers compensation system

Starting salary: $65,000/annually
