Tech Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, provides clerical support for clinical operations in the Emergency Department. Reviews and completes terminal filing of Emergency Department records. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent education. Preferred: AAS degree in Medical Assistant/Secretarial Science or experience in business with emphasis on healthcare or related field. LICENSE: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Minimum: BLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation. CPI certification obtained within 90 days of hire. WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Medical Terminology course completion, or willing to complete course upon hire. Must have ability to accurately type 20 – 30 words per minute. Preferred: Prior Office and Emergency Room experience. SKILLS: Minimum: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy Preferred : Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record Salary $17.24-$18.35
