810 7th Ave, New York, NY 10019, USA Start Date 06/01/2021 **:** NYC & Company, the official destination marketing organization and convention & visitors bureau for the Five Boroughs of New York City, is looking for a Director/Sales Manager, National Accounts. This position will market and sell New York City as a premier and competitive convention, meetings and incentive destination, positioning its diverse convention and meeting components, as well as the products and services of NYC & Company members. This position requires achieving specific annual booking goals as determined by the Company. Territory includes select domestic regions & states determined by the EVP, Convention Development. The position will be responsible for developing leads & activities from these regions & states. **OVERVIEW**

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Handle accounts existing as determined in consultation with the EVP of Convention Development and generate new business within the assigned Territory.

* Follow-up and solicit incoming leads.

* Develop and execute a comprehensive personal sales plan to deliver predetermined goals for new convention, incentive & meeting bookings, with corresponding room night targets.

* Actively expand the base of qualified customer prospects through new business development and account qualification.

* Maximize selling opportunities and efficiency through timely and accurate data management in the Customer Relationship Management computer system. CRM data input includes but are not limited to maintenance of account and contact information, recording meeting specifications and history, producing and distributing sales leads to members, and follow up on responses.

* Prepare quality bid book proposals and power point presentations for group business.

* Act as a liaison between customers and NYC partners, managing RFPS and prospective programs, short and long term.

* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with NYC & Company members to maximize member selling opportunities and cooperative sales success.

* Participate in key sales initiatives and activities that include travel to clients, participation in industry trade shows, preparation of sales missions and client events.

* Provide timely follow up with clients, data input into the CRM and trip reporting to the EVP, Convention Development.

* Participate as a representative of NYC & Company at various off-site events where travel is necessary.

* Provides complete, accurate and timely performance reporting and sales administration.

* During peak times, travel could be as much as 40%.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Bachelors degree, preferably in marketing, hospitality management or business administration.

* Minimum 5 years sales experience in the hospitality industry; continuing education a plus.

* NYC Hotel Sales Experience Preferred.

* Persuasive and concise verbal and written communicator.

* Ability to provide outstanding customer service.

* Ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized and tech savvy; be able to embrace new technology/systems.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and familiarity with database management software.

* This position is based at NYC & Company headquarters in New York City and reports to the EVP, Convention Development.
