Job Description:

Experience: 10-15 years' experience
Technical Project Manager (TPM)
• Partners with the Technology Delivery Leader and business leaders to create and execute a multi-year vision and roadmap for their portfolio of applications.
• Contributes to the estimation and portfolio budget process while driving on-time and on-budget development of new functionality and RTB initiatives.
• Supports and partners with the Squad Leaders and Product Owners to develop and maintain the delivery timeline
• Contributes to resource capacity planning and staffing for the squads to ensure successful tech delivery
• Provides high level oversight and direction of backlog management across squads
• Hosts Scrum of Scrums to help facilitate and track technical activities being managed in the backlogs of each scrum team
• Provides a single point of accountability for foundational services, engaging technical team members as needed

Responsibilities of the Technical Project Manager:
1. Project Planning and Execution: The Technical Project Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the project plan, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. They coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that project milestones are met and that the project is executed according to plan.
2. Resource Management: The Technical Project Manager manages project resources, including assigning tasks to team members, tracking progress, and ensuring that the necessary resources are available to complete the project successfully. They also monitor and manage project risks and issues, taking proactive measures to mitigate them.
3. Technical Expertise: The Technical Project Manager possesses a strong technical background and acts as a subject matter expert in the project's technical domain. They provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring that technical requirements are met and that the project's technical aspects are delivered effectively.
4. Communication and Stakeholder Management: The Technical Project Manager facilitates effective communication among project stakeholders, including team members, clients, and senior management. They provide regular project updates, manage expectations, and address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders.
5. Quality Assurance: The Technical Project Manager ensures that the project meets the required quality standards. They establish and implement quality assurance processes, conduct regular reviews and audits, and take corrective actions to address any quality issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Interactions with other members of the delivery team:
1. Squad Lead: The Technical Project Manager collaborates closely with the Squad Lead to ensure that the project's technical requirements are understood and met. They work together to align the project plan with the team's capabilities and resources, ensuring successful project execution.
2. Development Team: The Technical Project Manager works closely with the development team, providing technical guidance and support. They collaborate with the team to identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring that the project's technical deliverables are achieved.
3. Product Owner: The Technical Project Manager interacts with the Product Owner to understand and prioritize technical requirements. They work together to ensure that the project's technical aspects align with the product vision and goals.
Measurement of Technical Project Manager success: The success of a Technical Project Manager is measured by various factors, including:
1. Project Delivery: The Technical Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting the defined scope and quality standards. The successful completion of projects, meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations, reflects the effectiveness of the Technical Project Manager.
2. Stakeholder Satisfaction: The Technical Project Manager's ability to manage stakeholder expectations, communicate effectively, and address concerns and issues contributes to stakeholder satisfaction. Positive feedback from stakeholders indicates the success of the Technical Project Manager in managing project relationships.
3. Technical Excellence: The Technical Project Manager's expertise in the project's technical domain and their ability to guide and support the team in delivering technical requirements are important measures of success. The successful implementation of technical solutions and the team's ability to overcome technical challenges demonstrate the effectiveness of the Technical Project Manager.
